How Reputation Works
We're fortunate to have the opportunity to build a network of people around our ideas, interests, and abilities, regardless of where we are physically.
The long-term goal of leveraging the internet to cement a unique reputation is to escape competition entirely:
"Anyone can make their own whiskey, but only Glenfiddich can make Glenfiddich."
Rule #1: You are the most valuable asset in your portfolio.
Your reputation is a proxy for your future earnings.
Reputation is a simple construct, built on two ideas:
Ability: What you can do.
Reliability: What you do consistently.
The process is simple: match your reliability to your ability.
This concept is a short extract from one of 40 lessons on building a reputation-driven digital business from “Build once, sell twice — The Productization Playbook”
